"If the jeans fit"

I think one of the most classic moments I had with my father was when he and I went down to Ockeechokee to sell one weekend by ourselves. This is one of the times mother was real sick and couldn't go. Of course we were worried about her, but there was also other  family members around to take care of her. Mom always packed her and dad's bag together for the clothes they would wear that night and for the next day at work. At the motel dad always liked to take his shower the next morning. Not that he got that dirty anyways (smile). You've got to picture this, my dad is over 6ft. and my mom is maybe 5 ft. Tommy and Gary Killough, first cousins So as usual my dad gets up the next morning, his normal routine. I am still laying in bed trying to get that extra time in before another day of selling. Which I believe at the time we were selling strawberries. All of a sudden I hear from the bathroom " I wish you would look at what she's done". I get up from my nice cozy bed to see what is the matter with dad. It wasn't the fact that my mother had packed him the wrong black jeans - which were hers, he tried to put them on and forced the small cuff of them over his big feet and was stuck and could not get them back off his big feet. The first foot would have told me something.  So bottom line it was what my father had done. He even had my mom's small pair of jeans up passed his knees. So I peek around the bathroom door and here sits my father on the toilet stuck in a pair of mom's jeans. It was hilarious. I wish I had a camera. Needless to say I had to go up and help him get these jeans off, because he couldn't get them back over his big feet. I laughed so hard. I tried to tell that the first foot should of told him something. I guess he wasn't thinking either  as mom wasn't. ......    by daughter Ginny Killough Barefield
