| Edward inherited his father's natural mechanical ability. In early years he operated a cotton gin, saw mill, grist mill, and country store along with farming. For several years he was an engineer for the Quartermaster depot powerhouse in Charlotte, N.C. He was a retired farmer at the time of his death. He was a member of Weddington Methodist Church, Men's club, and served as a member of Weddington School Board for several years. | ||
