My Grandmother I was only nine years old when my grandma died but I remember her well. I remember how she would get up early and go to the kitchen first thing to wash her face in cold water (winter) I would shiver just to think of it. She was a Christian woman and read her bible daily. My first cousin Elaine Short and I would take turns staying with her because she had heart trouble and her children wanted someone to be with her. Carrie Deese Killough raised seven children and was a good grandma to me. When she retired at night she would say her prayers and make sure she had her claw hammer by her bed for protection. Gary B.
